Where there used to be open wooden framing, many rooms in the building have had their walls filled with insulation. Some have also been covered over with wood or drywall. Drywall has also been installed in many areas of the ceiling. Now that the wiring is in place in the walls, electrical sockets have also started to be installed. Maybe the most exciting new development are the many boxes of lighting that are in the Respect room, which will soon illuminate our Community Centre and Church!
As a final touch, almost all of the concrete curbs have now been completed in the parking lot, along with the packed gravel underlay. You can see where the packed gravel ends and the unfinished dirt begins around the front of the building. All in all, St. Luke's Community Centre is looking closer and closer to its finished state with each day, and our construction team have earned their Civic Holiday.
